Canvas Care

You've got your canvas and it looks fantastic up on your wall, but how do you look after your canvas? This article will help you care for your canvas print with 3 useful tips.

Re-tensioning

Before you start worrying your canvas is damaged, over time canvas prints will get a little slack. The good news is that its very easy to re-tension. On the reverse of your canvas you'll see 4 small plastic wedges in each corner. Take a small headed hammer a very gently tap these corner taps back in towards the frame. Don't rush, and only tap the wedges once before moving onto the next one. Repeat this process until your canvas is fully re-tensioned.

Cleaning and Dusting

When it comes to cleaning your canvas, do not use a damp or wet cloth as this can damage the image. Instead use a dry sponge or feather duster to clean the image.

Removing Dents

Over time your canvas might show some signs of wear and tear and small dents or bubbles may appear. Fear not as steam will have them sorted in no time. Simply boil a kettle and let the steam rise up on to the dented area and just watch as the dent disappears from the canvas print! Under no circumstances must you steam the image side of the canvas! Always steam the back, hidden side.
