What printing options do you offer?

The printing options are as varied as the digital large format printing industry can offer.

To simplify matters the online Art Shop just lists a couple of options that has proved popular.

The following options are available:

1. Giclee print

If longevity and quality is a concern we can offer prints from an HP Designjet 5500 printer using HP pigment inks on HP Studio or Matte canvas. Prints are UV protected with an imported acryllic coating and according to The Wilhelm Imaging Research Institute the life expectancy is more than 200 years. A professional frame for a museum wrap is also available  with the frame constructed of laminated Obeechi wood for strength and durability. Tension wedges are supplied. The  life expectancy of the frame is the same as for the canvas. The HP 5500 printer can also print on photographic and speciality art papers with a very high permanence rating provided the print is mounted under glass. If this is the type of print you require please contact the artist directly for a quote.

2. Decor Print

Our most popular option at the moment is to print on a state of the art 6 colour Roland Soljet III printer using eco-solvent inks on Sihl Picasso canvas. The ink bonds with the canvas to form a water resistant finish. Print quality and colour is excellent. Life expectancy of this type of print is about 20 years providing it is not directly exposed to sunlight. Normally a cheaper budget frame for a  museum wrap option is provided as well. The option appeals to people that want an original and distinctive piece of art at reasonable cost. It is also the option of choice where large quantities of individual art is required such as in furnished apartments, hotels, guest houses, hospitals etc. Sample pricing can be seen by visiting our Art Shop. If you require large quantities (more than 10) please contact the artist directly as we can offer substantial discounts.

3, Other Options

Both the HP and Roland printers can print on all sorts of material normally associated with advertising such as backlit material for lamps, self-adhesive vinyl that could be used for wallpaper, conventional wallpaper and a whole lot of others. The Roland can also print on satin-matte photo paper at a cheaper rate than the HP printers.

For the more adventurous, facilities also exist in South Africa to print on a variety of textiles, upholstery and floor tiles and we will be quite happy to arrange this for you.

If you are an overseas buyer I am also happy to work with the printing firm of your choice and supply the image in the format they require directly to them provided they can give me the assurance that the image will be destroyed once your print has been successfully completed.
